If there’s one thing you need when zombies are chasing you, it’s endurance. You may be a marathoner, but how do you outlast legions of flesh-hungry corpses who by all rational assumptions have no business walking at all? Enter the nutrients that can help you fend off mid-escape fatigue.
When the horde arrives at your door and you have to flee, you may not have time to grab those carb-filled gel packs to sustain you on your epic run. That’s where Lypo-Spheric® Acetyl L-Carnitine comes in. It transports fats to the cell mitochondria for production of the body’s fuel, adenosine triphosphate (ATP). So, when you’re running with all your worldly possessions on your back, only stopping for a couple seconds because it’s real hard to aim for the head mid-stride, you’re going to burn through your glucose stores real fast.
Acetyl L-Carnitine helps you make sure that fat-based energy comes to the rescue, and that your body doesn’t start burning the muscle it’s going to need to drag fresh corpses to the bonfire before they reanimate. Acetyl L-Carnitine is a unique form of carnitine in that it is able to provide energy to brain cells as well as other cells in the body. When a brain cell runs out of energy, it dies, and unlike the recently bitten and deceased, it’s impossible for them to come back to life. And not to get philosophical or anything, but if your brain cells die, who’s to tell what separates you from the walking dead?
Heavy cream, which you can substitute with coconut cream, is a good source of fat and it curdles nicely to give the Run For Your Life shot that brain hemorrhage consistency.
Beets are a great source of Vitamin B3. You may know B3 as niacin, as that’s what it’s called on the labels of so many workout supplements. In addition to supporting the body turning carbs into fuel, it also enhances circulation by helping our blood vessels dilate. The circulation benefits of beets continue as the blood-colored root vegetable is packed with natural dietary nitrates. Our bodies use these nitrates to produce nitric oxide. This powerful compound helps to distribute oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, which means better circulation and oxygen to working muscles and the brain.
We added ginger for taste, and due to its anti-inflammatory properties that studies say can help to alleviate muscle soreness. Lemon juice is a great source of Vitamin C, and it's in this cocktail for its powerful antioxidant capabilities. You’ll need a lot of antioxidant support to aim for the heads of those free radicals that accumulate in your body due to the stress of having to pick up and move every couple days when the zombies invade your campsite.
